Autumn

By Annette Benedetti

She was insane.
The way she shook
constantly bending and trembling
under the force of
erratic gusts of wind.

No one thought she would
make it to winter.

By January,
She had a face of glass
that appeared as though
with the slightest touch
it would shatter into a million
pieces.
