Today I had some pre-Easter fun. I had a mini-shoot with my most tolerant model, Olive — my loyal, loving canine companion. I do believe I got a couple of good shots that will show you her how beautiful her soul is. I also caught a couple of decent shots of our neighborhood cat. She is beautiful, kind, and very loving. But she also moves a lot.
My second shoot was the standard Easter egg coloring fiasco every parent faces each year. Let’s just say, my girls are less eager to model for me than my pets are, fortunately my son is a natural in front of the camera. So he gave me many opportunities to capture shot that showcase his enthusiasm.
I am off of automatic settings now, and today I practiced finding and playing with different focal points. I’ve been trying to learn how to blur objects, backgrounds and foregrounds that surround the point of focus. I guess you can decided if I’m finding any success.
