“And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain
Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it’s a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder” -Beatles
One night, when I was about eight months pregnant with Jude, I had a dream he was about five years old and sitting on the edge of my bed with the sun streaming in from the window behind him. I couldn’t see his face clearly because it was hidden by the shadows cast by the bright gold and yellow rays of light, but I could feel his smile as he absentmindedly kicked his dangling legs. I was filled with an overwhelming sense of calm and love and joy, and I woke up just knowing that he was going to be absolutely perfect.
And ever since the day he was born he has been my Sun.
Tonight my 13 year old, stood me up for an evening shoot we had planned. Jude begged to take her place. So here’s what happens when you put the sun and the rain on a sidewalk and start taking pics.
