I had a pretty big breakthrough during my yoga class this weekend. After trying and trying for months, I was finally able to hold Eka Pada Koundinyasana II. The funny thing is that after putting in hours and hours of attempting this pose and contemplating what I was doing wrong and what I should do differently, this time when my foot finally came off of the ground, I wasn’t even thinking about yoga at all.
That’s right, I wasn’t thinking about yoga and I certainly—in the moment—could have cared less if I found success.
And so I found success.
The takeaway? Sometimes the mind gets in the way of the body.
The success I found in Eka Pda Koundinyanasana, extended to my crow. I found that I was able to almost straighten my arms.
My daughter and I having fun.
